Our estate sale process in a nutshell

Feel free to remove any item a family member wishes to keep. Also, remove personal items such as family photos, social security cards, bills, marriage licenses, birth certificates, pay stubs or other items that contain sensitive information. Gather up and dispose of all prescription medications. The house should be as clean and tidy as possible, but DO NOT throw anything away unless absolutely sure it's trash. Some paper goods, magazines, catalogs, old broken items etc. that seem like trash to one person, are treasures to another. During the consultation, we'll let you know if other things should be thrown out.
We strongly recommend NOT to do so. In addition to optimizing your proceeds from the estate sale, Mountain Dog works with many specialty buyers and we're confident we can get you the best prices for your items.
The initial consultation needs to happen at the site of the estate sale. This provides us opportunity to meet, assess and discuss options around a possible sale. We will use this time to listen and gain an understanding of your needs. We will also make notes and take some photos to provide an initial assessment of the overall value of the contents of the sale. Mountain Dog will then provide you with a recommendation around whether conducting an estate sale is in your best interest.
Any item that you or a family member wish to keep should be removed or properly noted before the consultation. Our recommendations about how best to conduct the sale are dependent on the items available for sale. So, it's important that we have a good feel for what is included during the consultation.
They should all be moved to one room in the house that can be closed off during the sale.
No, Mountain Dog will provide all tables, fixtures, shelves and supplies needed to conduct the sale.
For most situations we handle this in one of three ways - all of which we will further discuss.
